Maximiliano Farina was born in Buenos Aires in June 1976. From a very young age, his passion was photography, but his family's difficult economic situation led him to dedicate a significant part of his life to commercial activities.
In 2008, he was diagnosed with cancer, from which he survived after eight challenging years. This experience prompted him to make the decision to change his previous occupation and dedicate himself full-time to photography. This is when the photojournalistic project "Despertar Viajando" was born—a six-year journey through seven South American countries, living in his adapted off-road vehicle.
This experience allowed him to capture the cultural richness and natural beauty of the region through his lens. The close relationship he maintained with the communities led him to understand the various issues they face every day and their determination to adapt to them.
Today, his goal is to showcase and give a voice to many communities and individuals who are often overlooked by the media, bringing their stories to light to achieve a real impact.
